I wanted to briefly touch on the topic of the first look. Doing a first look is something that is pretty popular in some other parts of the country, but not so much in the South just yet 
Some people don’t really even know what it is!
A first look is when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony during a private moment between just the two of them (and us of course, but we try to stay as far away as possible 
)
While Matt and I chose not to do a first look, I wasn’t opposed to doing one. I was pretty neutral on the matter, and I think the reason we decided not to go forward with it was our parents We were afraid we’d broken enough tradition for them to swallow and that might have sent them over the edge! Truthfully though, looking back I think I wish I had done one. The reason is I’m not a “center of attention” kind of girl. Matter of fact, I loathe being the center of attention and I do not like a lot of eyes on me. I’ll quietly sink into the corner any day and be happy I remember as I was walking down the aisle during my wedding being really nervous- not about seeing my groom, but I could FEEL all these eyes on me!! I think if Matt and I had seen each other before I wouldn’t have been so jittery and worried about everyone staring at me. This is just me and my personality though.
